BURGLARY AT TAURANGA.
On Friilu}' evening (8). an hour or so after dark, the premises of Mr Gray, builder and timber merchant w.-re broken into, and the till robbed of the loose silver, believed to l-e about 255. Mr Gray had. n few mil lit -s bofor , Ift bis office, taking with him a roll of m-Ds tor the. purposi of getting them converted into a cheque at one of the stores, leaving nothing but silver in the till. When lie returned after an absence of a quarkr of an hour, lie found, a window looking on the timbervan! foivjidy opened, and the till 1 mptied. The thief, wlio must have been acquainted with the premises, hud evidently done his work in the dark, for Mr Gray had left sixpence lying on the table, which lie found untoi c'icd w! c i lie returned. Mr Gray says lit* has grounds for suspecting some particular person, although, in the absence of direct proof it wouid not be advisable to make those suspicious known. —lltraW.
