ST. PATRICK’S DAY RACES AT PARAWAI.

A MEETING of subscribers to these races was held last evening at Butt’s Hotel, Shorthand, Mr 11. Mcllhonc in the chair. There was a moderately good, although not large, attendance. It was agreed to dissolve the existing committee and reappoint another. The following were chosen to he the new committee: —Messrs D. Bull,P.Grifiin, Walnntt, E. Thomas, and 11. Mcllhonc. It was resolved that two racing events be left open to all comers. A committee meeting was then held. Mr Wallnutt was appointed treasurer, and the acting-secretary, Mr Gillibrand, was instructed to go round to all persons having lists, and to collect the monies in band, and pay the same to the treasmer. The meeting then adjourned until halfpast 7 o’clock this evening, at the Pacific Hotel, Grahamstown.
