NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. riAENDERS arc invited for flic supply, X delivery, and erection of 500 TELEGRAPH POLES, more or less, for a Line of Telegraph between Grahamstown and Coromandel. 'Hie Poles to be sawn from Heart of Totara, perfectly sound, straight, free from loose knots, shakes, and sap. Any pole containing the least sap will be rejected. The majority of the poles are required to be 20 feet long, 0 inches square at the fop. and 8 inches square at the butt. A few will be required of the following increased dimensions : 25 feet long, C inches square at top, 8 inches square at butt. The Tolcs arc to be delivered along the line, which will be pointed out by the District Inspector, following generally the beach line between Grahamstown to Karcta, and from thence almost in a direct line to Coromandel. Tenders are to contain price per pole as per sizes given. The whole of the poles to be delivered and erected bv the Ist May. 1872, under a penalty of £5 for each and every day the contract is not completed after that date. In the event of the tenderer wishing the Commissioner to supply the poles, the same will be delivered to him at the Wharf, Grahamstown, within three weeks from the date of his signing .the contract, or sooner if possible. In that case the tenderer will state in his tender the price per pole for carriage from Grahamstown ami erection only, Each Tender must be accompanied by a deposit of 4; 25 as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should auy competitor refuse to sign the contract in the event of his tender being accepted. Each Tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of the contract in the event of the tender being accepted. and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect, signed byjtlic proposed sureties. , , . . , Further information can be obtained at the Telegraph Office.
