To the Editor of the THAMES GI'AHDIAN. Sin, —I am very glad to see that the above subject lias been raised for discussion, for I think with your correspondent, “ A Shareholder,” that shareholders in mines ought to be occasionally admitted ; and, that a bye-law in the rules of every company should be inserted to that edl’ect. But, then again, there should bo some limit to theso visits : for, if shareholders had the privelege of going into the mines whenever they thought proper it would in many instances impede the progress of the working, and take up the time of the manager unnecessarily. Some regulation should bo made whereby a shareholder could visit the mine periodically: say once a month, or once a week ; and Hint an order signed by the directors or the legal manager should be sufficient to admit tlie sharcholdnr to view the mine.—l am. &c., Shareholder No. 2. ■ <)> THAMES HOSPITAL. To the Editor at Thames Gi ahuian'. Sin, —At the annual meeting of the Thames Hospital Committee, it was decided that the services of the whole medical profession be solicited. It appears now that the chairman has taken upon himself to decide that only four medical men shall be elected or appointed, as the ease may be. "Why not let the subscribers have a voice in the matter.—l am, &c., Augustes Merkett, M.D.
