At a distance of five feet they have cut into the quartz, and find that the different branches have run together, and have formed a good body of stone, from which some good gold has been taken. It is his (the manager’s) intention to open out as soon as he gets through the lode, and he hopes to get something good. A few days more will determino the value of the reef at this spot.
