RIFLE MATCH.

CHRISTIE V. WALKER. We understand that a return match is he fired between these two gentlemen, Walker having accepted the challenge conditionally on the match being fired in Auckland. Yesterday morning, £I,OOO was subscribed down hero in a few hours, irrespective of whatever amount may have been raised in Auckland, so that in all probability there will •be a much larger amount of money depending on the result than was at first anticipated. Mr Walker is at present in Wellington, and we may expect to hear by the next Southern boat if the match will como off.
