Tor Grcville and Co.'s Express (Hentor's Agents). ♦ PROVINCIAL .COUNCIL. EDUCATIONAL BILL. Auckland, 8.55 p.m. In reply to Mr Beveridge, the Goldfields Secretary stated that no change had been made in the Executive, and, if any change took placo, the Council would be informed of it. This reply was received with laughter, and cries of “ Very good!” The Hospital Reserves Sale Bill created a long and obstructive discussion. The debate was adjourned. The Provincial Secretary moved the second reading of the Education Bill, in a long speech. He said the bill was not perfect, it was an attempt to legalize a system growing naturally in our midst to he a foundation system peculiar to the province. He thought that the best system was that which drew the most children, and imparted the greatest amount of practical education. The Provincial Treasurer seconded the debate, which was adjourned until Tuesday next.
