POLICE COURT.— Yesterday.
Before \Y. Fraser. K~q., R.M. Drunkenness. Thomas Mooney (on bail), charged with being drunk in V il-limnsou-strect the previous night, did not appear, and the amount of his bail was ordered to be forfeited. Vagrant Houses. Michael Fury, Thomas Wells, Esau Walters, and Michael Connor were each charged with allowing a horse to wander at large in Mackaystreet, Shorthand, on the 20th ult. All the defendants pleaded guilty, and were each fined 2s 0d and costs. Transfers of License. —An application by Sarah Jane Vaughan to have the license for the Grand Junction Hotel transferred to Louis Scgar was granted.—There was also an application by Edward Hogan to transfer the license of the Koval 1 lot cl, Tararu, to Sarah Jane Vaughan. Since the application a letter had been sent by the lady's husband (lately returned from Fiji) objecting to the transfer being in his wife’s name. The R.M. asked the wife if this was so, and she replied that it was. His Worship said it would only causc a week’s delay to have the necessary forms gone through to have the transfer in the lidsband’s name, and the case was accordingly adjourned for a week.
