Burgess.— The following letter was read from Mr McCormick : Auckland, 13th Nov., 1871. Dear Sir,—l write to acquaint you with what has been done with regard to the application for the injunction herein, as I notice the report in some of the papers is not correct. There will be no injunction, the application being refused with costs, to be paid by the plaintiff, should the defendants succeed in the action or the action be discontinued, so that in any ! event the defendants do not pay any costs to the plaintiff in respect of this application, but at the same time, I have uuder- ' taken, on behalf of the defendants, that i the plaintiff's land is not to be touched until the trial, which I suppose will take , place in December next. I think the j course I have taken is the best, though it may put the Board to a little inconvenience by the delay ; and I am sanguine ; enough to think that the defendants must ! succeed in the action. —Yours faithfully, 1 J. C. MacCormick. —P.S. —I should have ! written sooner, but for my absence from I Auckland. -J. Burgess, Esq., Chairman | Kauwaeranga District Board. Becreatiox Ground. —A letter was ! read from the Secretary, asking the co- | operation of the Kauwaeranga Board with ! the Waiotahi and Parawai Boards, with a view to obtaining a piece of ground from the Government for a recreation ground for the inhabitants of the Thames. the Waiotahi Board, and asking the Ivauwaeranga Board to nominate two gentlemen to act with them.. Messrs Lipsey and Scott were elected. Parawai Road. —A letter was read from the Secretary of the Parawai Board, asking to have the main Parawai road metalled from the eastern comer of Taipari’s paddock to the boundary of the Parawai district with the least possible delay. The Board agreed that the matter should be attended to before the winter, but there were more pressing works which must be attended to. Mr. Bullen and Mr. Mitchell.—A letter was read from Mr. Bullen, asking if certain statements made by Mr. Mitchell, M.P.C. in the Provincial Council, as to his (Mr. B.) having said that it was no part of his duty to see that the provisions of the Dog Act were enforced, were justified.— The Chairman said he objected to the Board being mixed up with the quarrels of Mr. Bullen and Mr. Mitchell.—The Board concurred, and the matter dropped ■without further discussion.

Deputation.— A deputation of the residents in and near Tommy’s Lane, a portion of block 27, lately purchased by Messrs. Rowe and Thomas, waited upon the Board relative to the opening up a thoroughfare in that locality.—The chairman said before this was done it would be desirable to have free access between Mary-street and St. Patrick’s Road, so as not to show partiality to the Tommy’s Lane people.—After some discussion, the Board resolved that before anything further was done, an attempt should be made, to open up the communication throughout.

Engineer’s Report. —The Engineer’s report was read, calling attention amongst other matters, to the had state of the footpath in Pollen-street, between Karaka Bridge and Airey’s store.
