At the sitting of the District Court today, before Judge Beckham, Mr. R, Workman objected to have his name placed on the list of contributors. Mr Macdonald appeared for the objector. Judgment was reserved. The schedule of contributors in the Lone Star G.M. Co. was confirmed. The case of the Proof Positive G.M. Co. was adjourned until next February. In the Provincial Council to-day, several apologies for non-attendance
were read. On the resolution of Mr R. J. Creighton, seconded by Mr James Mackay “ The Council go into committee on Wednesday (to-day), to consider the address to his Honor the Superintendent, recommending a sum to be placed on the estimates in acknowledgment of the services of Messrs Charles and Frederick Ring, in connection with the discovery of gold at Coromandel.” Mr Mitchell’s motion for the purchase of the Aroha lands is postponed. The second reading of the Licensing Bill was also adjourned. Mr H. H. Lusk, Provincial Secretary, is now delivering the Financial Statement.
