To the Editor of the Thames GUARDIAN, Sir, —Scotch Volunteers liberality yott will oblige mo and insert these f ovt invitations to various comp lines in your valuable paper anics on St Andrews Day That is to throw a Sprat to catch a Mackercil They know well enough their conduct on Mr Morriss’s Benefit I and a few more as bystanders watching their meeting and a very good muster, they had for on the tho same night of Mr Morriss benefit at the Theatre Royol of course we could not expect them to be there when they were at their meeting but Mr Morris and Richard Wiseman came to their drill shed and asked Mr Fraser their piper to play for them that night but Mr Fraser Refused him Do I say play—l would pronounce it a Chinese Tartar noise I am sure once Mr Fraser would get his wind up it would frighten the Audience ont of tho Theatre if I were Mr Morris I am sure I would pay him to keep away for kicking up such a screeching noise yes their invitations to the various companies is to catch a Mackrecl of the brass band if Mr Morris were to play on St Andrews day I would think very little of him if my company should be ordered out on that day I should resign immediately 6 Jock your kindness will not do to catch our brass baud II Hunt I remain A Volunteer H R V [To make anything definite from tins is impossible.
