Before W. Fraser, Esq., R.M. ' ' •' ; Drunkenness.— Patrick McCulloch on bail, charged with being drunk,, did not appear, and the amount.of his bail was ordered to bo forfeited. John Thackerbury, also charged vrith being drank, and in answer to the charge, said he had been drinking to the memory of the immortal Shakespeare, and had taken rather too much. This being the third offence, the accused was sentenced to 7 dHj v s' hard labor in addition to the usual 20s. or 48 hours. , • .. t ' Y . Vagrant Cattle. —" William McQuillan was fined 2s. 6d. aud costs, for allovviug a horse to wander at large. William Adams for a liko offence, as regarded two calves, was fined ss. ami costs. Suspicion of. Lunacy.— James Logan charged with this offence, was remanded for three days for medical inspection and treatment. Mr. Bullen stated that the unfortunate man was suffering from delirium resulting from drink.
