Wednesday. Mr. J. Newman reports :—“ The sharemarket has been more active to-day than usual, and Caledonians have maintained yesterday’s price; other stocks about the same. My sales comprise—Caledonian, £B2 10s, £B3 10s, £BO, and £B4, closing at £B2 10s ; All Nations, £4; Waitemata, 10s; Moanataiari, £3 15s. Sellers—Eureka Hill, Una, and Nonpareil. Buyers Tokatea, Pride of Tokatea.” Mr. Saunders reports : —“ Sales this day : Caledonian, £B2 10s, £BO, and £B3 10s ; closing buyers, £B2 10s ; sellers, £BS; Alburnia, £G 17s Gd and £7 ; Thames, £lB 10s and £l9 ; sellers, £l9 ; Tookey, £26 ss, £26 10s closing buyers ; few offering. Inverness and Albion, buyers at low rates.”
