Thames Guardian Office, Tuesday evening, November 14. The sharemarket yesterday was fluctuating Calcdians sold early in the morning at LB7 10s, and fell in the afternoon to LB2 10s, when buy era were vciy scarce. The latter fall is owing no doubt to the rumor of the pumps giving way, but as our mining report shows such was not the case. Thames still kept up to L2O sellers, buyers at Ll 9; Tookcy’s were enquired for at L 27, but few if any sellers ; Otagos soid at from L 3 17s 6d to L 4 ; Golden Calfs, L2 17s Gd ; Albumias, L 7 10s ; All Nations, L 4 10s ; Nonpareils, L 4 2s Gd ; Smiling Beauty, 4s Gd : Queen of May, 8s; Ruby, 4s ; Red Queens, 9s Gd; Golden Lion, Gs ; Italians, 8s Gd. There was no enquiry worth mentioning for any other stoek, and the market was depressed. The valuable mining plant of Messrs. Raitliby, Muir, and Co. was offered for sale, by Mr D. J. O’Keeffe, to-day, at noon, but there was no offer. AUCKLAND SHAREMARKET Monday. Messrs Clark Brothers report :—Sales of Caledonian, £BO, £BS ; Thames, £lB, £lB 10s ; Albion, £6 10s ; Inverness, 245, 25s ; lied Queen, 8s 9d ; All Nations, 955. Closing buyers Caledonian, £B2 10s ; Thames, £lB : Sliotover, 8s ; Alburnia, £G 10s. Mr J. Newman reports :—The sharemarket has been unsteady to-day in Caledonian shares. Very little doing in other stock. My sales comprise—Caledonians, £77 10s, £BO, £BS, closing buyers, £B2 10s ; Otagos, 80s : Albion, £7 ; Pride of Tokatea, i!s to 3s Gd. Sellers Unas and All Nations. Buyers Pride of Tokatea and Conquering Hero. Mr Saunders reports sales this day : Albion, £6 15s ; Sliotover, 8s: Caledonian, £B4, sellers £So. Caledonians opened at £95, falling to £75 ; closing buyers, £B2 10s ; sellers, £BS. Not much business. Alburnia, sellers, £7 to £7 2s Gd. MR. BUCKLAND’S WOOL SALE. On Monday Mr Alfred Backhand held his first wool sale for the season in the Haymarket, at 2 o’clock. There were a good number of buyers and others interested present.. The sale was a moderately large one, considering the curliness of the season, there being 182 bales and 30 bags of wool disposed of, besides a number of hides and sheep and land) skins. For some of the lots the bidding was spirited, and upon the whole fair prices were realised. Some of the lots brought good prices, Is Gd and Is G|d per lb. being obtained for a number of the bales. Previous to commeucing the sale, Mr Buckland stated that the sale was somewhat of au experiment. It was in December that the regular sale took place.
