THAMES REGATTA.
A meeting of those gentlemen desirous of having a Regatta at the Thames at the beginning of 1872, was held last evening at the Pacific Hotel, Mr D. Lundon in the chair. A general committee of twenty-two members was clioscn most of whom take a great interest in affairs of this sort’ His Honor the Superintendent was appointed patron, and Wm. Fraser, Esq., R.M., was elected President of the Regatta. Mr John Muir was unanimously elected as lion, secretary, aud Mr C. Curtis as treasurer. A Working Committee consisting of the following gentlemen, whose duties will consist in making all the the day, and in drawing up a programme of races were appointed, namely.—Messrs D. Lundon, Captain Best, W. Goldsworthy. C. Wallnutt, John Cook, J. J. Fitzgibbon, J. M. Simpson, Captain Souter, and J. Muir, five to form a quorum, and their first meeting is to be held at 8 p.m. on Friday next the 17th instant. The Finance Committee were then elected, and consists of the following gentlemen:—J. D. Grant, C. Curiis, W. McCullough, J. C. Young, Bull, D. J. O’Keeffe, O. M.'Creagh, T. Garrett, J. o‘Callaghan, Dr. Sam, G. O’Halloran, and A. J. Allom. Subscription lists will be supplied, and the committee are to meet on Tuesday evening next the 21st instant, at the Pacific Hotel at 7.30 p.m.
