We, the undersigned, offer a REWARD of FIFTY POUNDS (£SO) to any or either of the writers of those letters if they will produce evidence to substantiate those charges, as we are desirous of clearing ourselves from the imputations brought against us. THE Second Anniversary of the above Society will be held on Thursday, the 16th November. A Grand Procession of Members of the Order, headed by the Volunteer Band, will proceed from the Lodge Rooms, Shortland, at 11 a.m., to Tararu, when there will be outdoor sports provided. In the evening, at St. George’s Hall, there will be an Entertainment, followed by a Ball and Supper. Double tickets, 10s. each ; single tickets, 7s. ; to be had from any of the Committee, or from Messrs J. Taylor, W. Beaumont, J. Leydon, L. J. Bagnall, and the Secretary. Early application is necessary, as there is only a limited number to be issued. G. LINDSAY, Secretary. NOTICE. ALL parties interested in promoting a Regatta at the Thames, this season, are requested to meet at the Pacific Hotel, at 8 o’clock on Wednesday Evening. PUBLIC NOTIFICATION. UNDER instructions in that behalf from his Honor the Deputy-Superintendent, I hereby Notify that I will, on Wednesday next, the Ist November, at the Court-house. Grahamstown, at 12 o’clock, noon, hold a Public Inquiry into the truth of any charges which shall then be, or which previously thereto shall have been made of Breach of Trust or Duty, Collusion with private parties, or other Misconduct, in connection with the Providence Claim, on the part of any Officer .of the several Public Offices on the Thames Goldfields, over which his Honor the Superintendent has control. At the request of the Inspector of Miners’ Rights, his office will be included in the inquiry. Persons making charges or complaints must make them either in writing, addressed to me, at this office, of personally, before me, at the time and place above mentioned.
