The New Zealand Battery are unable to crush the quantity taken out of the mine, so Tookey’s Whakaroa Battery has been engaged lo crush. The mine is looking very beaky and rich. Green Har°.—The leader in this claim is turning out very good stone now. They are driving towards the John Bidl and Atlantic claims on the reef. The Golden Pa are getting good specimens out of the cross drive which has been just commenced, and the prospects are very encouraging. ■ The Neptune. From the four foot reef found on the surface in this claim excellent prospects have been obtained. They have entered a drive to intersect the reef at a lower level, which is now in a distance 40 feet, and they have 16 feet further to drive to catch it. At the Tiki the Golden Belt and Burra Burra claims are about to recommence ope.iations under fresh arrangements, which have been made, and opening up these mines will be vigorously proceeded with. The Venus. —ln the jumping case with regard to this claim, the Warden gave a verdict in favour of the jumpers. The Company intend to appeal against the decision. At present, arrangements arc in course of negotiation towards a settlement, before the appeal comes before the Supreme Court. +
