Several outside stocks have been in good demand, and some business was done. As far as leading stocks arc concerned, after the Caledonian was clear of water and work started again the shares became pretty firm at from L 125 to Ll3O, but the accident to the machinery on Friday niglrt and Saturday morning' occasioned a sudd’enMrop to L 95, rising again to LIOO, at which price they were in good demand on Saturday night. The demand for Sons of Freedom is quite unwarranted according to the present appearance of the .workings, but very few have changed hands, the majority of holders preferring to await the opening up of the mine.
