The Management of the Theatre Royal, Grahamstowu, have much pleasure in announcing that they have arranged with J. J- B. STEELE, Supported by the Great Star Company, will make their first appearance in Shorthand in the powerful Drama entitled THE FEMALE GAMBLER! And the Glorious Eastern Burlesque of THE FORTY THIEVES! OVERTURE— New, “ Italiana in Algeria,” Messrs. Lord, Owen, and Harris. After which the curtain will rise at 8 o’clock precisely to the thrilling Drama, in three acts, of PLOT AND PASSION, OR THE FEMALE GAMBLER? Concluding every evening, till further notice, with the beautiful Burlesque Extravaganza in one act, adapted from the Arabian Night’s Fairy Tales, entitled ALI BABA, OR THE FORTY THIEVES. Everything New 1 New Songs ! New Dances ! New Scenery I Dress Circle, 3s ; Stalls, 2s ; Pit, Is. NOTICE. —Seats may be secured on application to Captain Butt, at the Hotel. DEDICATION OF THE CHURCH OF ST. BRIDGET, QUEEN-STREET, GRAHAMSTOWN. THE SOLEMN CEREMONY of the Dedication of the above Church will be performed by the Right Rev. Dr. CROKE on Sunday next, loth inst., at 11 o’clock. The Bishop will deliver a suitable address on the occasion, and will preach afterwards, at Vespers, in the Catholic Church, Wil-loughby-street, Shortland, at half-past six o’clock. Subject —“ Infallibility of the Pope.” Last Mass in Shortland at 10 o’clock a.m.

TO PAINTERS. A MEETING of IMPORTANCE will be held at the Wharf Hotel, This (Thursday) Evening, at half-past 7 o’clock, when all Members of the Trade are expected to attend. THAMES CRICKET CLUB. MEMBERS are requested to take notice that the Practice days are Monday and Wednesday, at 2 o’clock ; and Saturdax at 1 o’clock sharp. No Member will be permitted to Practice or Play who shall not have PAID his SUBSCRIPTION for the current year. A correct List of Members who shall have paid their Subscriptions on 11st inst., with the names of the officers, and the rules of the Club, will be published in the local papers on the Ist November next.
