AMUSEMENTS.

Academy of Music - —The drama of “ Formosa” was reproduced last night with the usual and well merited success. Miss Colville's acting was, if it were possible, surpassed by that of the previous evening. In the third act, where filial feelings overcome Formosa, the audience were fairly convulsed with sympathy, showing the effect the elocution of this actross has on the public. Of Mr. Hoskins acting we can only reiterate the “ On dit” of the public that it was perfection. We cannot overlook the clever acting of Mr. Glover as Spooner ; it would not be quite correct to say that he is quite at home ns Spooner, but still the “ hisirioni” effect was good, and showed for a young actor prosperous signs of a biilliani. future. Mr. Clinton’s Bones (wc are speaking in dramatic parlance) was clever, and though only the last, still it was not the least important feature in the programme. We are informed this piece will be the “ chose distingue” for the week, and then we are promised the favourite drama of the “ Lancashire Lass.” Theatre Royal. —lt was the intention of the management to produce the play of “ Camilla’s Husband, or the Poor Strollers,” but on second consideration it was decided that the reproduction of “Foul Play” under existing oircumstancee would be the most acceptable. We have commented upon the acting in this piece before, and therefore content ourselves by saying that it was as good as ever. In out critique-of Tuesday night’s performances we inadventently stated that this company would appear at the American Theatre last evening. We should have said Friday evening.
