The Premier Cross Examined.— The Wellington Post of Thursday has the following paragraph :—“The cross examination of the Premier by Mr Hutchison and Mr Jones afforded some amusement to the habitues of the Midland Railway Arbitration Court yesterday afternoon and this morning. It was expected that it would last all day, but this morning sufficed apparently to convince counsel that th re was little to be made out of it. It savoured much of the story of the man who “captured” a prisoner, but who was unable to return to camp because the “ prisoner ” would neither go with him nor lot him go. It was very difficult at times to say whether counsel was cross-examining Mr Seddou or Mr Seddou was cross-examining counsel.”
