Henry Hay ward, clerk to the Inglewood Town Board Board, has been arrested on a charge of embezzlement of several small amounts belonging to the board. All the men suspected of complicity in the Frasertown (Hawkes Bay) robbery, are now in custody. A native named Hik 1 Pene Tuhi, was arrested by Constable Uoughlan, and Robert White, a half-caste ringleader of the gang, who escaped when being brought in on Saturday morning, gave himself up on Tuesday. The accused were remanded for eight days. Since the arrests a large amount of property has been recovered. The gang apparently has been carrying on depredations for some time, as many settlers report property missing. At the Supreme Court, Auckland, in the case of Frederick James Hale, for attempted suicide, no bill was found. John Macalister McLeod, for arson, got 12 months' imprisonment and was<rdered to pay £3O as compensation. The Judge said that it was no excuse that prisoner had got himself excited with drink. Frauk Messenger, for attempted suicide, was ordered to liud sureties for £5 to come up for sentence when called on.
