London, May 28. The motion brought forward in the House of Commons to adjourn on Derby Day was rejected by a majority of 47 votes. In the House of Lords the Bill introduced by Lord Halifax releasiug Anglican priests from marrying divorced persons and removing compulsion to permit the use of the church when adultery has beeen proved, was read a second time. In replying to the bankers' memorial Sir William Vernon Harcourt said that any departure from the gold standard would involve national disaster.
