THE RAND CLAIMANT.

Sydney, April 4. Inquiries concerning the Rand claimant have brought some peculiar facts to light. For thirty years he worked on the Murray river as a fisherman and general laborer under different names, iucluding that of Tichborne. When asked if he was any relation to the celebrated '1 ichborne claimant he said that he might be. He adopted the name of Rand a few months ago, after he met a man named Tassam, who told him that he had a commission from Mr Rand, of Mahonga station, to discover the wherebouts of his son, who said he had been missing for years, and the desire of whose life was to have his son back. After Mr Itai.d, of Mahonga, died, Tassam discovered his son in the present claimaut for the estate. Rand was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
