SUPREME COURT.

Wellington, March 4. The Criminal sessiion of the Supreme Court opened to-day. Harry Waters, was convicted of larceny in Wellington and sentence to two years. W. Noon, who has substantially been in gaol for 30 years, pleaded guilty to a charge of larceny at at Greytown North, and was remanded until Friday. Joseph Mason and James Studdon, pleaded gailty to burglary at Manukaa, Wellington, also at Otaki, and wore sentenced to three years each, to begin at the end of the term they are now serving. Jeremiah Dunn pleaded gailty to one charge of burglary, and not guilty to a second charge. He was convicted on the latter and sentenced to two years on each, concurrent. Dunedin, March 4. At the criminal sessions the Grand Jury found no bill in the case of Ah Wa, charged with larceny. In the following cases the prisoners pleaded guilty: Robert Bertand George Gardiner, larceny of carpenter's tools, sentence deferred to give the prisoners an opportunity of refunding to the prosecutor the value of the articles stolen. Thomas Alexander, aged 71, who picked up a haudbag in the street and spent its contents in drink, was released on probation for 12 months—on condition that he paid weekly instalments of half-a-crown for nine months. George Henderson, 61, who attempted suicide, was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Alfred Smith, a lad, was sentenced to two months for breaking into a plate-layer's hut on the Otago Central line. Charlotte 9orsman, for larceny as a bailee, was sentenced to three months. Bella Eraser, for larceny of a brooch, was admitted to probation for six months. James McLaren, for breaking into the Phoenix Co's store and stealing confectionery,three years. John Blackwood Howie, larceny of £32 19s 2d of the funds of the People's Journal Co., of which he was liquidator, was admitted to probation for two years, conditional on his paying 5s a week during that period. March 5 R. Green breaking into a store, got two yearo' hard labour; Robert Warrington, assault, two months; George Gardiner and Robert Bent, stealing carpenters' tools, nine mouths and three months respectively, The Court was engaged for the rest of the day in hearing the charge of arson against Jacob Yanstien at Kaitangata. The jary retired at 6 p.m. and have not ydt returned.
