The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday : Wheat—Prime velvet, 2s lOd to 2s lid ; other varieties, 2s 8d to 2s lOd. Chick feed, good whole is scarce and wanted at from 2s 4d to 2s 6d. The demand is not very active. Oats —Prime milling and plump feed, Is 4d to Is 4Jd ; ordinary feed, Is 3d to Is 3|d —net, sacks extra. Hops—Demand not active, 9d. Potatoes—£l 5s to £llos.
Chaff—The demand is good for best quality at £2 10s to £2 12s 6d; ordinary, 35s to 455. Onions—£l7 to £lB, Linseed—£l2. Pigs—Sales are difficult to make at 2£d to 2fd.
Salt Butter s|d to 6d; fresh, full supply. Bacon—Rolls, 6d; hams, Bd. Cheese—Factory, 4Jd to sd; Akaroa, 4d to 4Jd. Honey—Prime extracted, 4d to 4id ; other quality, 3jd. : Ryegrass—Machine-dressed, 3s 9d to 4s 3d; farmers’ lots, 2s 3d to 2s 9d. Cocksfoot~4d to Gd; light cocksfoot for surface sowing, 5s per sack.
Sheepskins—At auction on Tuesday, notwithstanding the discouraging reports from London, there was spirited competition throughout the sales, which resulted in catalogues being cleared at satisfactory values. Green crossbreds sold at 3s to 5a 6d; do merinos, 2s 3d to 3s 6d; do lambs, Gd to lOd; dry crossbreds, 2s 3d to ss; do merinos, Is 6d to 3s lOd; do pelts and hoggets, 4d to 2s6d. Hides—All coming to hand continue to find a ready market at values which show no alteration when compared with late reports. Prime heavy hides are in most request, and if over 601 b and free from cuts realise 2£d to 5d per lb; medium weights, IJd so 2d; light, Id toljdperlb. Tallow Prime rendered commands most attention from buyers, but all sorts are quitted as under :—Prime rendered, 18s 6d to 20s; medium, 16s 6d to 18s; inferior 13s 6d to 16s ; rough fat, 10s to 13s. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Sydney, November 28, Wheat, chick, 2s 6d to 2s 7d. Flour, roller-made, nominally, £6 15s to £7. Oats, dull, prime feeding, 2s Id. Maize, 2s. Barley, Cape, 2s 6d. Bran, B£d; pollard, 7|d. Potatoes, new locally-grown, £3 10s, Onions, £7 10s. Butter, dairy-made, 6d,to7d. Cheese, 4£d. Bacon, prime, sd. At the local wool sales greasy merinos reached the highest price for the season, selling up to per lb. Melbourne, November 28. Wheat, 2s O^d. Flour, roller-made, £5 12s Gd to £5 10s. Oats, Algerian, Is Gd; stout, Is 9d to Is lOd. Maize, Is lOd. Potatoes, now, £1 10s to £1 17s Gd. A pel aide, November 28. Wheat, is quiet at 3s Hd. Flour, roller-made, £5 5s to £5 7s Gd. Brah, 6£d to Gjd ; pollard, to 6£d. Brisbane, November 29, The now per cents, are purely for conversion purposes. MONETARY AND COMMERCIAL. London, November 27. A fair catalogue was offered at the wool sales to-day, and there was good competition, chiefly on the German account. November 28. New Zealand Trust and Loan 5 per cents ape quoted at £25. The quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,320,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1,050,000 quarters. The American visible supply of wheat is 112,200,000 bushels. A South Australian November shipment of wheat sold at 24s 3d. Eleven thousand quarters prompt shipment sold at 24s 3£<l. The wool market has a bettor tone. Good combing is firm, inferior old is neglected.
