A man named, Astley was knocked overboard from the fishing boat Nighthawk, not Seabird as erroneously stated, at Waibeke and was drowned. The body has not been recovered. He leaves a wife and family in poor circumstances. The boat was making for Waiheke Island. The night was squally and she jibed. The boom knocked Astley overboard.
