On resuming, Ferguson went in, and shortly put up a catch to Curtis, who was then bowling. 50 up. Dann followed, and Gillespie, who had half the runs on the score sheet to his credit, began to put on the wood. Both players were severe on the loose balls, which were plentiful, and the score mounted rapidly, the former player at last being caught behind the wickets. 105 up. McLean followed, and another good stand was made, Gillespie still doing his share of run getting. The latter was finally dismissed by being caught by Wood, with 68runs to his credit made by good cricket, only one chance being given. 140 up. Anderson, next man, was caught before he got into double figures. 153 up. Wills followed, and left without scoring. 155 up. Velvin came in and lost McLean, who had played well for his score. 158 up. Brown last man, did not get a chance to score, Velvin being bowled. 167 up. Wicksteed, Hassell and Curtis did best of the bowling for Timaru.
