London, November 18. Tallow, mutton, medium, 23a 6d ; beef, do, 225. The English wheat market is active and prices steady. The Continental is steady and the American has ah upward tendency. The prices for the choicest Australian factory batter are 110 s to 112 s; English, 127 s. The net quantity of wool available for the next series is 190,000 bales. The market is steadier. The lists were closed without waiting for two Australian steamers expected to arrive early. The New Zealand Insurance Company has joined a scheme to reconstruct the New Zealand''and River Plate Company, on condition that £200,000 is written off the capital. The liquidation of the latter company is to proceed. The. Court is being applied to. for power- to extinguish the existing debentures, but not to reduce the capital till January. The company also desires to carry out its own policy of reconstruction. November 19. The War Office has decided to invite tenders for a five years supply of frozen mutton for the troops at Malta and Gazo. Tenders must be in on February Ist, and the successful tenderer will be granted at a nominal rent a 20 years’ lease of a site at Malta for refrigerating stores. The Batter Committee have not solved, but the members have agreed to sell independently. The Glasgow butter merchants say that They would be able to obtain better prices |than are given in London if shipments i were made at regular intervals. | The Peninsular and Oriental dividend 1 for the year is 6 per cent, on preference shares, and 6£ per cent, on deferred shares. Washington, November 19. The President will submit his plan for currency reform to the December meeting of Congress.
