The twenty-ninth annual show of the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association took place on Tuesday and Wednesday last, and although the entries were not quite so numerous as last year the show was very successful. The principal falling off was in sheep, the entries being 175 against 212 last year, horses 127 against 154, and dairy produce 64 against 84. In agricultural implements there was a large increase in'the number of entries—ls 6 against 127 last year. Agricultural produce and dogs also showed a slight increase. The entry of cattle was again a very small one, only 25 being shown against 29 last year. The principal exhibitors were Messrs A. M. Clark's Herefords and Gh H. Rhodes' of Highland cattle, imported from Scotland. The horses, as usual, attracted a large amount of interest, and the dairy produce and agricultural implements were very important features of the show. The weather though not so bright as usual was still very favourable, and visitors escaped the dust bath that usually accompanies a visit to the show. The attendance yesterday was large. The ground arrangements were very complete and the officers attentive to their duties. Wo have to thank the secretary, Mr G. P. Wood, and the class stewards for the courtesy sh?wa to us, while compiling our report. The following is the prize list: — SHElJP,—Prizes, #1 and 103.
