Forty shearers have been committed for trial at Wilcannia for rioting, incendiarism, and malicious injury to machinery at Moambe station last month.
At Dunedin aud Wellington Wednesday was generally observed as a holiday as " Labor Day," and sports were held. At Christchurch only the public offices were closed.
