London, October 7. At the wool sales a poor selection was offered, but bidding was fair. The Waipawa brand brought B£d ; Robinson, 6f d; Dalethorpe, 8d ; Gerard, 8f d ; and Hamilton, Is Of d. Scoured, New Zealand, sorts were very firm. The total quantity of wool catalogued up to date is 210,200 bales, of which 181,400 bales have been sold. The English wheat market has not declined further, the Continental is steady, and the American is changing a little for the better. Tallow is unchanged. The Christchurch agents of Messrs Henry S. Fitter & Sons, colonial, meat salesmen, London, report having received the following cablegram from their London office, dated Bth October:— Canterbury mutton 3Jd to 3f d, lamb 4f d to s|d ; Wellington mutton 3d to 3£d; Australian sheep 2£d to 2|d, beef (hinds) 2£d to 2fd,. (fores) l|d to 2Jd.
