GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Geraldine Town Board was held on Tuesday evening. Present —Messrs A. White (chairman), R. Taylor, J. M. Sutherland, R. Y. Ferguson, J. Williams, and R. Hammond. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was received and dealt with as uuder : From the Tlmaru Harbor Board, reminding that the second half-yearly instalment of the Timaru Harbor rates is due, and payable on October Ist; the board’s share being £l4 5s 3d. —Amount to be paid. From the Land Tax Department, Wellington, sending voucher for payment of £2l 3s, subsidy due for 1893-4. From the Audit Department, enclosing account for auditing board’s accounts to March 31st, 1894 ; six hours’ work, £2. From same, returning board’s balancesbeet duly certified. —Balancer-sheet to be hung up outside the office. From Bank of New Zealand, Geraldine, advising payment of £2l 3s to board’s credit from Land Tax Department. A circular was received re the solving of the unemployed question. From Mr T, Herlihy, complaining that when he tendered for the market reserve lie understood that it would be handed over to him in good order. It was now time something was done to same.—Board will allow six months’ rent to tenant if he dears gorse and puts the reserve in good order to the satisfaction o£ the board, REPORT. The overseer’s report was read, which advised the board that the footpaths be formed in North Torrece and South Torrsco strosts by ctay labor* Resolved suggestion be carried out.” PAY SHEET. The pay sheet for the month amounted to £56 11a lid. The bwwi then rose.
