THE COREAN TROUBLE.
London, Aug. 28,
The steamer Islam, which was seized at Glasgow by the authority of the Foreign Office, us it was supposed that she was a Japanese warship, has been released, the Japanese Government guaranteeing her neutrality. Aug. 30. The British officials have given up the Japanese warship Tatsuta which was seized at Aden.
Vienna, Aug. 30.
The Japanese Government have purchased two hundred thousand needle guns here.
Shanghai, Aug. 29.
It is reported that the Chinese troops, aided by 5000 Coreans, have driven the Japanese with heavy loss from Kaisong, and that they continue to advance. Other rumours state that the Japanese are landing forces north of Taku, and that preparations are being made to march on Pekin.
Two thousand Japanese have been landed at Yahu river with the object of cutting off Chinese communication.
