London - , August 19. The English wheat market ia weak and without quotable change. The Continental is inactive, and the American declining. Tallow has advanced Is. The market for rabbit skins is variable. Prime and uncommonly fine skins are firm ; spring and summer produce is flat and has declined 2d. New Zealand and Australian cheese, white, is quoted at 50s to 545; coloured, 44s to 50s. Canadian and American cheese, white, is only selling at 46s to 475. Aug. 21. Merchants state that it is necessary to sell 100,000 cases of Irish and English butter before the new season’s Australian butter can be touched, and it is feared that the low prices will prevail till November. Sydney, Aug 20. A number of graziers have determined to make a thorough trial of the shipping of life cattle to the English market. If the Queensland breeders, from whom they buy store cattle will deliver one thousand steers to their paddocks near Newcastle, they will secure one of the finest boats in the trans-Atlantic cattle trade, and make the shipments at their own risk and expense. Hobaet, Ang. 21. The Premier has received an intimation that the New Zealand Government do not intend to interfere in the exchange of fruit.
