GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Geraldine Town Board was held on Tuesday evening. Present—Messrs A. White (chairman), R. Taylor, R. Y. Ferguson, and J. M. Sutherland. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read— From Messrs Dunlop & Co., requesting that shingle repairs be done on street near Mr Waters’ house.—Granted. WORKS. Mr Sutherland, on behalf of ratepayers, requested that the footpath be f rmed from Kensington’s to Waters’ house.— Tenders to be called for work. Mr Ferguson suggested that the road be formed in Lewis street.—Tenders to be called for work. The chairman drew attention to the Cemetery road leading to the public school which requires attention. Resolved—“ That work be done, and a footpath be formed from the Cemetery road to Walker’s gully, past school gate.” overseer’s report. The overseer’s report was read, which suggested that planks be got for creeks. Resolved—“ That the chairman get planks required, and that new gum boots be procured for overseer.” NEW BUILDINGS. Mr Baxter applied for permission to erect a shop in front of Mr J. McCaskey’s house.—Granted. Mr Dunlop also applied for permission to build a house next Mr P. D. Herdman’s for Mrs Smith. —Granted. TSUDSRS, Tenders were received for carting 600 yards of shingle, more or less, as under: — Gregan Bros., Is 2d per yard; J. Fiefield, £32, lump sum (accepted). FIXED DEPOSIT. Resolved That £IOO about to matqre be redeppsited for s'x months.” DOGS. Resolved —«That the overseer be authorised to collect the dog tax fees at once.” PAV-SHEET-The pay-sheet amounted to £24 Qs 9d. The board then rose.
