AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. The Canterbury Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Limited (per Mr J. Mundell, auctioneer), report on the horse market at Tattersall’s on Saturday, as follows : Our entry comprised 39 horses, 2 cows in profit, ploughs, drays, spring carts, etc. The sale throughout was a most satis- . factory one; about two-thirds of the horses offered were sold under the hammer at the following quotations : —Draughts, young, with trial, £l3, £l3 10s, to £ls; do light and aged, £6 10s, £7 15s, £B, to £lO ; light harness sorts, £l2 to £l3 10s. Cows in profit, £5 to £7. TIMARU MARKETS. The Canterbury Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Limited, report as follows for week ending Friday, May 18th, 1894 : Since our last report fair business has been done in wheat and oats of good quality, and we have placed a fair quantity at full rates. Wheat —There is a fair enquiry for old wheat, but owners are reluctant to sell at present prices. There is a good demand for new wheat of good quality, and enquiries are being made for fowl wheat. Prime milling Canadians Is 4id to Is Gd, short feed Is 3d to Is 4d, dauish Is to Is 2d ? op trucks Timaru. Barley—2s Qd to 3s 3d, op trucks, Timarp. Potatoes—3ss to 37s Gd, f.0.b., sacks in. MONETARY AND COMMERCIAL. London, May 18. The annual report of the Shaw, Spyill and Albion Company sho\ys that the profit for the year amopnts to £IB,OOO. A dividend of 4.V per cent was delated. New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 109 ; 3£ do, 102. New Zealand long-berried wheat, ex warehouse, 2Gs Gd, market restricted; South Australian do., 26s Gd, weaker; Victorian, do., 2Gs, fiat. Tho great bulk must bo stored till October. Dunedin, May 18. At Messrs Wright, Stephenson & Co.’s sale of Mr Logan’s Propotimou estate, which was cut up into 30 farms, 28 were sold. Tho homestead farm, containing G 52 acres with its lino buildings and beautiful native bush, was sold at £4 15s per acre to a representative of the Misses Louise and Emma Logan. Tho range of prices was from £2 18s to £5 7s Gd per acre, and of tho 5432 acres o fibred 373 S weio sold at an average of £3 15s 7d per acre.
