Auckland, April 29.—Arrived : Mararoa, from Sydney, this evening. Tort Chalmers, April 27.—The Sarah and Mary, with a cargo of wheat from Lyttelton for Bluff, has put in here with the loss of her sails, which were blown to ribbons on the 23rd. About 25 miles east of the Bluff she encountered a hurricane from the westward, which held until the 24th, her lee rail for hours being under water. On the night of the 24th Captain Smith was compelled to run before the gale to clear the centre of the cyclone until midnight, when she was again headed towards the land, and anchored under Moeraki Peninsula until morning. On the 26th she got under weigh with a northerly breeze, and ran inside Taiaroa Heads to procure fresh canvas.
Dunedin, April 27.—Sailed : Talune, 8.5., for Melbourne, via Bluff. Bluff, April 29. —The Manapouri arrived here at 5.45 p.m. She left Williamstown at 5.35 p.m. on the 24th inst. Syndey, April 28. Arrived : Rotokino, from Bluff.—H M.S. Tauranga arrived from Auckland. She will go into the reserve and be replaced by the "Wallaroo. Melbourne, April 28. Arrived : Rotomahana, from the Bluff, via Hobart. April 20. —Arrived : Star of England, from London. London, April 27. The Miowera, which is undergoing repairs atNewcastJe-on-Tyne, is beiug fitted with a freezing apparatus capable of carrying 11,000 carcases. The vessel brought from San Francisco a shipment of oraDges, which arrived in excellent condition after ten weeks' cool storage. —The Duke of Wellington has arrived from Lag Palmas. — Arrived: Duke of Sutherland, from Lyttelton (Feb. 24th). The vessel will be loaded for Auckland and Wellington, and is expected to sail on the 22nd of June.—The Ruahine is loading for Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton. — The Waikato, which is loading for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers, is advertised to sail on the 19th May. _____
