PRETTY CONCEIT The enormous sales of the Waterbnry have led firms who do care for a steady turnover at a legitimate profit to explore the purlieus of the Continent of gheap inferior “ tickers we do not call tfiem watcfies—with which to “ run the Waterbary.” These possess one virtue only—that of showing the dealer a return of some 150 per cent on his outlay. The real strength of the Waierbury lies in its absolute reliability, in oilier words its absolute refusal to keep anything but the correct time. Wo sometimes sec “tickers”—wo still bar them any other title—otfered for sale which are really wonderful combinations. They not only exhibit the whole of the celestial bodies ou their faces, but keep time, or piofess to, toll you the state of the moneymarket, the amount of any particular member’s indebtedness at Bellamy’s, and the name cf the ne:ct bank to reconstruct in Australia. The Waterbnry does not do this. It simply keeps correct time, and goes on doing so.
