THE MURDER OF A BANKER.

Sydney, April 21. Valuable horses have been shot on a station near Barraba, and it is supposed to be the work of the men who murdered Mr McKay, the bank manager. Some anxiety is felt for a small search party which has now been absent two days in the wildest part of the country searching for the murderers. Cummings, a well-known shearers’ delegate, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the murder of Mr McKay, at Barraba. Ho is said to have been in a starving condition, and admitted having a horse, swag, and rifle, but declined to say where they are hidden. Ho was remanded for eight days. When arrested, he was soaking wet and in an exhausted and excited condition. He declared that he had been shooting kaugarooos and had lost his horse. He had but little money. Some untwisted rope hko a false beard was found on him.
