IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals Protection Ac*, 1880," and the Acts amending the same, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the <Tovernor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that NATIVE GAME, excepting Tui, Huia, White Heron, and Crested Grebe, MAY BE TAKEN OR KILLED within the GERALDINE COUNTY DISTRICT, consisting of that part of the County of Geraldine lying North of the Opihihi River, from the SECOND DAY of APRIL, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, to the THIRTY-FIRST of JULY, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, both inclusive (subject, nevertheless, to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). T a meeting of the Council of the l County of Geraldine held in the Council's Office, Timaru, on THURSDAY, 11th January, 1894, at 11 o'clock a.m., the following resolution was passed : —That this Council in pursuance of the powers vested in it by " The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1886," do now make and levy a special annual recurring rate of TWOTHIRDS OF A PENNY IN THE POUND ($d in £) for each year, commencing from the First Day of July and ending on the Thirtieth Day of June, on j the rateable value of all property within the limits of that portion of the County I of Geraldine, called or known as " THE FOUR PEAKS WATER SUPPLY DISTRICT," to provide interest and other charges upon an authorised Loan of £4OO (FOUR HUNDRED PUUNDS), raised by the Council under the provision of " The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act 1886, and Amendment, 1887," for the purpose of constructing Special Public Works, consisting of Water Races, within such portion or district exclusively. Such rate to come into force on the First Day of July 1894, and to be payable annually in one sum on tha Fifteenth Day of July in each year for a period of Twenty-Six Years, until the said loan be paid off. The first payment to be payable on 15th Day of July, 1894. The above Special Order was adopted at j special meeting of the Council held on THURSDAY, March 8,1894, and will be confirmed at the meeting of the Council to be held on 12th day of APRIL, 1894, at 11 o'clock.
