New York, March 7. The miners in Idaho formed a plot to dynamite the mine, but the owner, becoming aware of their intentions, sent for the military, who frustrated the scheme. Further trouble is expected, and reinforcements of militia have been sent to the scene. Auckland, March 8. At a meeting of gum diggers at Dargaville it was decided to present a petition to the Premier and the Executive Council pleading inability to earn a livelihood at glim digging, and asking the Government to institute public works in Northern Wairoa to tide over the depression existing.
