We landed 2000 pieces of lace, but these are low now. We landed 21 dozen Umbrellas and Sunshades from Is in children's, Is 9d to 17s 6d in ladies, and they are selling well. Our speciality in Dress Stuffs is a line of plain stuffs in dark shades. The holders price was Is 9d. ; we cleared at 9|d, and quote per yard Is Old double width, or 6s 9d the Dress. Our Crepons and Suitings are the newest. In Gloves we keep—all 4 ,button 4-lever, or dome—the Phyllis 2s 6d, Marvel 2s 9d, Elba 3s lid, Pyrette 4s 6d, Menteith, Marie, Florence 5s lid, Suede 2s 9d, 3s lid, 8button length (evening shades) 3s lid, all in Brown, Black, Beaver or Grey. A special line of 11 dozen 6-button, French Kid 2s 6d, 100 dozen Silk and Fabrio 9Jd to 2s 3d. Mantles, Capes, etc., are taking a brisk turn, in keeping with the upward turn of the markets. We have landed in all close on 2000 Straw Hats through the season and are showing some inter-season styles. Nicely Trimmed Millinery from 5s lid. Cretonnes, Art Muslins, Waxclotos, Lace Curtains, and all beavy Goods we need not particularise, as the Stock is never at rest. In Prints and Washing Dresses generally we carry a very large Stock still. B ouses are getting low, but have some medium priced Goods, from 2s 6d to 5s lid or 6s 6d. T. & J.
