TIMARU MARKETS. • The Canterbury Farmers' Association, Limited, report as follows for the week ending Friday, December 22nd, 1893: Wheat—There is really nothing doing. The mills are stocked .ahead, and local buyers are not tempted with the lines now offering, evea at low rates. A large quantity of wheat is finding apace in the present freight offering in view of the incoming harvest promising ao well. Quotations are nominal. Velvet, 2s s£d to 2s 6Jd; tuscau, 2s 6d to 2s 6d, red chaff, 2s 4d to 2s 5d (nominal). Oats—Stocks are reduced to a minimum quantity, and present rates ure firm. Canadians, 2s Id to 2s 2d; short feed, 2a to 2s Id; danish, 2s Id to 2s 2d, f.o.b.

CHKISTCHURCH STOCK MARKET,

At the Addington Yards on Wednesday the sale was lifeless and protracted. Fat Sheep—The market for fat sheep almost collapsed, and lambs suffered considerably. A small entry of store sheep met with a limited demand. There was a medium entry of fat sheep, containing nothing of first-class quality, the principal proportion consisting of second-rate crossbred ewes. The sale was of a dragging nature, and values fell all round. Crossbred wethers fetched 12s 3d to 15s, ewes 9s 4d to lis 7d, halfbred wethers 12s 6d to 15s, ewes 8s to lis 3d,-merino wethers 6s 9d to 8s lid, ewes 5s to 8s 9d. A large yarding of lambs, mostly second quality, met with a depressed market, and vaiues fell accordingly. Fat Cattle—A large supply of fat cattle sold at a shade under last week's rates. Store Cattle were in slightly better demand. Pigs—a large entry of baconers sold well. Porkers were taken at about late rates, and stores,were slightly easier.

DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKETS. The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday : Wheat—Prime milling, 2s 9d to 2s lOd; medium quality, 2a 7d to 2s Bd. Fowls' wheat, 2s 4d to 2s 7d. Demand quiet; prices low. Oats—A small inquiry for local consumption; very little .doing in shipping. Prime feed ami milling, Is lid to 2a; other qualities, Is lOd to Is 10£d. Potatoes —ISew kidneys, £7 to £9 peri ton. „ _ .

Chaff— Prime quality, £3 12s 6d to £3 15s; good to medium, £3 5s to £3. Salt Butter—7d per lb, prime quality, packages Is each. Cheese—Prime factory, 4Jd to 5f d; Akaroa, 4§d to 4f d. Grass Seeds—Byegrass, 2s 6d to 3s; machined from 3a to 4s; cocksfoot, 3£d to sd.

Sheepskins—At auction on Tuesday a very good demand was experienced, and although values fluctuate on occasion, all the lots were cleared, the demand being first-class. Country dry crossbreds, inferior to medium, brought Is 6d to 2s lOd ; do do merino, Is 5d to 2s; medium to full-woolled crossbreds, 3s 2d to 4s 3d; best, 4s 5d to 5s 4d ; extra heavy, 5s 7d to 6s 3d; full-woolled merinos—good, 2s 2d to 35.4 d; best, 3s 6d to 4s 7d; dry pelts, 2d to Is 4d; butchers' green crossbreds—best, 5s Gd to 5s 9d; medium to aood, 4s 9d to 5s 3d ; small, 3s 9d to 4s 8d; green merinos, 2s 8d to 3s 9d; green crossbred pelts—best, Is to Is 3d—extra large an 4 free from cuts a shade more; medium, 8d to IDd; green lambskins, 9d to Is 6d each. . Hides—These show but Utile phange in value. Quotations: For best, 001 b and over, 2Jd to 3d; medium, IJdto 2d ; inferior and light, Id to l£d per lb. Tallow—The market remains steady.
