A detachment of Major Forbes' force under Captain Wilson overtook Lobengula's waggons on the banks of the Shangaui river. The natives wore in am~ buscade, and hotly aUneked Captain Wilson's num., compelling them to retire, and a s.uddcu me in the Shangani prevented a junction between the major portion of Majoi' Forbes's troops and Captain Wilson's detachment. The position of the latter became perilous, and Major Forbes is attempting to cross th& river to their assistance.
