APPEAL TO FARMERS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —lii this day’s issue I notice in your correspondence “An Appeal to Farmers ” from the Lyttelton Times : “ The following letter, written over the initials R.H.P., that are familiar to many farmers in South Canterbury, appears in the current number of the Canterbury Times,” &c., &c. By looking in Saturday’s issue you will see the rest. I would like to ask you why you went out of your way to publish that letter and not give us his pedigree '! May I ask you if that is the man that attempted to run Whale Back Station in the Mackenzie Country some 25 years ago, and if he attempted to run two big farms on the Waitohi known as Swaney’s Downs and Harman & Stevens’ 1000 acres, and also Brooklyn, on the Opihi, as good a farm as there is in New Zealand, bought from Parr Bros., fenced in, built on, and planted with blue gums, at under Government price, and how it is we find him at Ealing amongst the stones i By inserting the above in Tuesday’s paper you will oblige One that can Smkll Him,
