SUPREME COURT.

At the Supreme Court, Christchurch, on Monday, W. E. Underwood, for forgery, pleaded guilty to two charges, and sentence was deferred. William Storey pleaded guilty to forgery, and was sentenced to two years. J. F. Reece pleaded guilty to three charges of forgery. He is at present undergoing imprisonment in Wellington, for a similar offence. He was sentenced to six months, to count from the expiration of his present term. W. Gr. Kidd, a lad, pleaded guilty to forgery, and breaking, and uttering, and was sentenced to twelve months. Thomas Downs alias Dowd, was found guilty of uttering a cheque forged by Kidd, and was sentenced td three years. Joseph Gourney pleaded guilty to criminal assault, and was remanded for sentence. John Bicker ton, charged with shooting at a constable with intent, was found to be insane, ordered to be kept in custody until the Colonial Secretary's wishes are known. Samuel Northey, for breaking and enterin<*, was sentenced to 18 months. On Tuesday Edmund Reynolds waß sentenced to your years for assault and robbery, and William Thomas to two years for a similar offence. Sidney Head for embezzlement received eighteen months. Joseph Cawthine, charged with receiving stolen property, was found not guilty. Charles Hilary Parker, for a breach of the Bankruptcy Act, was sentenced to three months.
