New York, Nov. 18. Intelligence is to hand that the insurgent leader. Calcutta, Nov. 17. The Ameer of Afghanistan has informed his army that a settlement of the frontier question and all differences with the Government of India has been concluded, and he alluded in warm terms to the friendly relations established with the British. The nature of the settlement haf\ not been published, but it is sported that it is satisfactory to Indian residents. Sir Mortimer Durand, the British Commissioner, has held his final and public reception at a dnvbar with the Ameer. The latter, addressing Sir Mortimer, said that he had exhorted the Afghans to always remain friendly to the British. November 18. The Ameer of Afghanistan has agreed that Chitral, Lujonrsuart, and the adjacent States of the Indus, Kohistan, and Wazistan shall come under British influence. The A wool' withdraws his lahhs cJ rupees annually.
