rangitata electorate. M R R. M. CUTHBERTSON WILL ADDRESS THE ELECTORS As Under : SOHOOLHOUSE, RANGITATA S., ON THURSDAY, 23rd inst. ; SCHOOLHOUSE, ARUNDEL, ON FRIDAY, 24th, inst. Both Meetings at 8 p.m. no2l
TO THE ELECTORS OF RANGITATA. 1 AND GENTLEMEN,— It has come to my knowledge that rumors have been extensively circulated in the Southern part of the Electorate that I am standing for the purpose of SPLITTING VOTES, and with no serious intention oh winning the seat. To these rumors I give a MOST EMPHATIC DENIAL. I am contesting the seat purely in the LIBERAL INTEREST and from the very great encouragement I have received from the Electors residing in the district north of, the Rangitata, which represents about three fourths of the whole Electorate, I am confident that I shall most probably beat the other Candidates in the field, and to assist me to do so I would ask the local Liberals to rally round me and thus secure the seat for the Liberal Party. Faithfully yours, nolfi R. M. CUTHBERTSON. TO THE ELECTORS OF RANGITATA. RADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— The Government having fixed the Polling Day for a much earlier date than was anticipated, I SHALL NOT BEADLE TO ADDRESS YOU AT THE FOLLOWING PLACES, as intended, viz. : Arundel Belfield Rangitata South Rangitata Island Ealing Ruapuna Lismore Westerfield Willowby, and Coldstream, I regret this exceedingly, and hope therefore, that the electors in the above localities will endeavor, as far as possible, o attend the advertised meetings at other centres.
