The Public Trust Office, constituted by "The Public Trust Office Act, 1872," has been since much enlarged in its functions by amending Acts, to meet growing requirements. The Amendment Act of 1891 facilitates administration, authorises prompt distribution, provides absolute security against loss to estates from investments ai tlie discretion ol the Public Trustee, and insures the regular payment of the interest. The Security and Fidelity of the Pub. lie Trustee's administration must be considered of the utmost importance to every person contemplating the appointment of a trustee. Tho colony guarantees the fidelity of the administration, and Guarantees also the integrity of the Capital Funds Invested at the option of the Public Trustee. Tho Colony Guarantees also, on the capital funds arising for investment out of the properties placed in the Public Trust Office, a ipommon rate of interest, to be paid quarterly, Free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. The value of this guarantee is in the Guarantee of the Colony against loss from investments in bad or insufficient securities, and against Joss from delay in investment, and for the regular and punctual payxnent of the interest, free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. In the appointment of Trusteos there must always be serious cortcern as to the security of the capital funds; and the larger the capital funds the greater must be the concern for Bocurity, and the less for a high rate of interest.
